1872 New Jersey Midland RW Stock Certificate. Scarce, very attractive New Jersey railroad certificate with vignette of steam locomotive and tender. The New Jersey Midland Railway was formed in 1870 as a consolidation of several smaller railroads. It went into receivership in 1875, eventually consolidating with five other railroads in 1881 to form the New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway, a name which it still holds. Certificate is in VF+ condition. Estimated value in Cox II is $150.
